Welcome to English 2P!
This page is the "home base" for our class.
Make sure to select the other "Students" pages above too!
The primary goals of this course are to help students improve their reading, writing, and ultimately critical thinking skills through the study of literature and the writing process. Throughout the year, we will be learning from a plethora of novels, novellas, plays, non-fiction articles, short stories, poems, films, documentaries, and visual texts that cover a vast array of topics. All work will be done within a “Universal Concept” that organizes the learning!
All assignments are based on the new Common Core Standards and are designed to provide students with opportunities to become college and career ready through the practice of academic language in classroom discussions and written responses, critical thinking, scholarly writing, rigorous reading, and technological integrations throughout.
We will be using a newer textbook. The curriculum will be determined by myself and a team of other teacher leaders within the district. There will be six "Collections", with three being covered each semester.

Class of 2017's "Pass it On" Videos for FUTURE Classes
As part of their Final Exam Project, last year's Sophomore Honors students created a "Pass It On" video for the incoming sophomore class. Their videos share advice about how to be successful in my English 2H class. Here are a just some of those videos. Some are funny, some are serious, and all are shared by amazing students! Miss you guys!
